Hidden Pond Resort, Kennebunkport, ME

“Breathtaking” just doesn’t cut it for this wedding set-up at Hidden Pond Resort in Kennebunkport, Maine. With a spin on the current “glamping” trend, Hidden Pond makes you feel like you’re out amid nature, all while offering a beautiful cozy feel with their pools, spa, and amazing restaurant, Earth. The clear frame tent pictured, allows for no obstruction of the surrounding landscape and at night, the stars illuminate the night! The café lighting and chandeliers add the touch of glow needed for the dark of night, and add just the right amount of warmth. The walnut cross back chairs match the rustic theme embodied at Hidden Pond. There is no denying the beauty, love, and attention to detail surrounding this wedding and its décor.

Private Property Wedding In Epping, NH

There’s a certain indescribable presence our sailcloth tents have, and this private property in Epping New Hampshire allowed for it to be captured in all its glory. This beautiful 40 acre industrial property was the perfect setting for our 51’x111’ tidewater sailcloth tent. The translucent top allows for the festive glow of up-lighting to shine through, and the clear sidewalls give you a sneak peak of the party going on underneath. Can you imagine how full that white dance floor must have been?!

What’s Your Signature Wedding Style?

In my book, The Big White Book of Weddings, I discuss style in detail. Here, in a nutshell, are four bridal styles to consider. Happy self-discovery!

By: David Tutera

One of my first questions to any bride is, “What kind of bride are you and what is your wedding style?” Now, I’m not trying to find out what kind of person you are at work or at home, or what kind of style you’ve followed until now — the fact is, you as a bride may end up learning that you are entirely different from your everyday persona.

The Classic Bride: Traditional Elegance

Your wedding is exactly what every little girl dreams of. The classic bride has a style that is timeless, elegant, rich, ethereal and romantic, and chooses décor that speaks to that. Opulence is a must here. I love filling the room with dripping crystals and florals hung from chandeliers, tall taper candles mixed into luxurious and overabundant floral arrangements, crystal or precious-metal containers that create a focal point for your tablescapes and candles of all sizes clustered on luxurious linens. 1. Do you have a portfolio I can review?

Reviewing sample work allows you to see the photographer’s style. Is it more formal or candid? Look for images you can see yourself in. Think of three words that describe you and share those with your photographer. Continue reading

There’s a saying that the devil is in the details. And when it comes to wedding planning fights, that saying couldn’t be truer. “While you may argue about the big things, like the budget or venue, you’re likely going to bicker most often about the little things,” warns Amy Nichols, owner of and co-founder of The Poppy Group. “Recognizing early that even the small things require cooperation and consideration will help the wedding planning process flow much more easily.”

With that in mind, here are five little things that can lead to big wedding fights, and how to solve — or better yet, avoid — each one. Continue reading

SAVE MONEY ON THE VENUE

Perhaps the most attractive reason for having a backyard wedding is the fact that they can be so budget-friendly. “Maybe [couples] feel as if they can spend their money elsewhere and can achieve their Pinterest goals, rather than spending money on a [conventional] venue space,” said Sarah Campbell, owner and wedding planner at Pollyanna Events. Saving money on renting a traditional venue can free up a large chunk of the budget for things like decor, rentals, and catering. Continue reading
